Scott Peterson VIEW PROFILE

Leon Scott Peterson, age 80, passed away January 7, 2024, in Roy Utah. Scott was born April 8, 1943, in Ogden Utah, son of Herbert John Peterson and Wanda Marjorie Simpson.

Scott graduated from Weber High School in 1962. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served 2 years in the Western Canadian mission. He served in both the Air Force and Army Reserve. He worked for Hill Air Force Base as a Production Controller for many years and retired in 1998.

In 1967 Scott married Raelene Hill in the Salt Lake LDS temple. From their marriage they had two children, Staci and Brian. They later divorced and he married Julie Cornia in 1986. They later divorced and he married Loie Kendrick in the Jordan River Temple in 1990 and they later divorced.

Scott enjoyed old antique cars and showed many of them throughout the years in car shows. He was a member of the Weber County Sheriffs Mounted Posse. He rode in the reenactment of the Pony Express from San Francisco, California to Salt Lake City, Utah.

He is survived by his daughter Staci Peterson, son in law Cory Higgs and son Brian Scott Peterson, daughter in law Jodie. Six grandchildren Kylee (Justin) Hoops, Shelby Chavez, Kiera (Adam) Walsh, Dallin Peterson, Hayden Peterson, and Kendrie Peterson. Four great-grandchildren Aria Nichols, Bodhi Hoops, Afton and Rozic Walsh. He is survived by his siblings Tamra Schenk, Ronald Peterson wife Shauna, Lyle Peterson wife LaRae, Jami Bradley husband Bob, Jon Peterson wife Bonnie and Jeffrey Peterson wife Akiko.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Wanda Peterson and brother-in-law Ray Schenk.
