In Memory

Donald Wells

It is with profound sorrow yet immense gratitude for his life that we announce the passing of Donald Fay Wells, 81, of Pleasant View, Utah, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in his home, surrounded by family.

Born July 5, 1944, in Ogden, Utah, to Don and Mabel Wells, Don grew up in Pleasant View with his sister, Linda, and brother, Jay.  He graduated from Weber High in 1962 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State University in 1968.

Don faithfully served a mission in Scotland from 1963 to 1965 and continued throughout his life to serve his Heavenly Father in many callings, including Ward Clerk, Young Men's President, Elders Quorum President, Stake Athletic Director, and Ogden Temple Worker. He especially loved family history and dedicated countless hours to finding family names.

On January 14, 1966, Don married the love of his life, Jeanne Spiers, in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared nearly 60 years of marriage, raising four children—Natalie (Gregg) Chambers, Nathan (Cathy) Wells, Alicia (Brett) Harris, and Jana (Tyler) Curtis—and were blessed with 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, with two more soon to join the family.

Don dedicated 44 years to the logistics warehousing industry, where he was admired for his reliability and work ethic. Outside of work, he refereed soccer, baseball, and basketball for many years, earning respect for his fairness and love of sports.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Don found joy in the outdoors and cherished the countless hours he spent sharing these activities with his children, grandchildren, and friends.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering faith, and the love he gave so freely to his family.
