Richard Adair Jolley passed away peacefully in his home and reunited with his daughter Allison on the evening of April 18, 2025, from end stage renal cancer at the age of 80. Richard was born in Payson, Utah on June 30, 1944, to Cleon and Marna Jolley. His family moved to Ogden, Utah during his childhood, where he had fond memories of playing with his brothers and making money on the side selling doughnuts to the neighborhood for a local bakery. He attended Ogden High School and after his family moved a short distance, he graduated from Weber High School, where he met the love of his life, Rosalie Ferrin.
Richard and Rosalie were married August 14, 1965, moved to California and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on August 13, 1971. Prior to their marriage, Richard had served in the United States Army Reserve. Richard and Rosalie lived in Torrance, California for 32 years, while running a successful business, Redondo Electric Security, contracting with countless businesses to provide security systems as Rosalie would manage the office and keep the finances in order. They reared five children while in their home in Torrance and enjoyed many fun memories together spending time on vacation and visiting family in Utah. Richard dearly loved his family and spent countless hours watching kids and grandkids baseball games, piano, band, dance, choir, and other performances and recitals. He had a passion for building projects and fixing anything. He loved dirt biking and skiing and even worked at Powder Mountain for fun. He had a talent for finding a solution for any problem that involved working with tools and found great joy in helping those around him. He loved spending time with his sweetheart and found joy in visiting and helping his children in California, reading books, playing board games, doing puzzles, and hand making various useful items for his children and grandchildren.
Richard and Rosalie sold their business in 1997 and moved back to Pleasant View, Utah to remodel the home Rosalie grew up in. Richard then started a successful business, All Mortgage Services as a mortgage broker, helping hundreds in the community with home financing. After several years, he returned to his love of security contracting working for the University of Utah to help with their complex security system and locks as he taught many others his skills from decades of experience.
Richard had a great love for His Savior and had an unshakeable testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. He willingly served in every capacity that was asked of him, serving in various callings, including Bishop, serving as a High Councilor, Executive Secretary in the Bishopric, Elders Quorum President, and many other callings. He and Rosalie served as full-time service missionaries in the Utah Ogden Mission for 33 months as self-reliance counselors to many who were struggling with their finances. Richard was known to offer help to anyone who needed it and always showed a Christ-like love to anyone with whom he came in contact.
Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Allison (Aaron) Farish, Prosper, TX; his parents; his brothers, Eldon and Gary; and great grandson, Oliver Catto, Logan, UT.
