Pamela Fowler Balfour ("Pam") passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024, in South Jordan, Utah from complications related to her battle with Parkinson's Disease. She took her last breaths with her husband, Stan, by her side.

Born on August 19, 1944, in Ogden, Utah, to Donald P. Fowler and Elizabeth L. Fowler, Pam was the second daughter in a family of seven girls and she loved all of her sisters dearly. She inherited her father's smile and twinkly eyes and her mother's sense of fun and love for all things stylish. Her sisters felt she always gave "the best advice." The early deaths of her younger sisters, Karen and Barbara, were a deep heartbreak to Pam. She joyfully looked forward to being reunited with them in the next life.

Pam spent her childhood years in Cheyenne, Wyoming, before moving to Harrisville, Utah, where she graduated from high school in 1962. She pursued higher education at Weber State University and later graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in elementary and early childhood education. Pam was a gifted teacher. She found great joy as she taught and served young children. She had the ability to see the good in them, love them, and build their confidence.

Pam married Stanley R. Balfour, the love of her life, on August 1, 1973, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two sons and six daughters. Pam loved being a mother. Her love and devotion are reflected in the goodness and success of her children. They looked to her for guidance and wisdom. She had a special connection with children and was often called the "baby whisperer." Pam was an amazing nurturer. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy and hobby in this life.

Her children will always remember how much she enjoyed planting flowers in the spring and planning family vacations to Hawaii. Pam often said Hawaii was the one place she vacationed that she never felt ready to leave. She also loved gathering her family for reunions in Park City, Utah each year.

Pam celebrated people. She made holidays and birthdays special for all her children and grandchildren. If Pam had one failing as a mother, it might be her over-confidence in her children's performing talents and gifts. For many years, everyone was forced to perform in a family talent show on Christmas Eve. Although the pictures (and videos) are still mortifying, the memories are priceless.

A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pam's testimony of the restored gospel was deep and genuine. She had immense faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Savior. Pam's dedication to her baptismal and temple covenants are the defining attributes of her character and lasting legacy.

She served in many callings in the Church as both a leader and teacher, including several times as Relief Society President. Working in the Primary organization with children was always a favorite for her. Her wisdom, compassion, peacemaking, willingness to listen to the Holy Spirit, and a heart full of righteous desires made her an often called-upon disciple of Jesus Christ. Many sought her counsel, care, and comfort-especially in difficult times. She generously ministered to the "the one" and was a powerful example of service, discipleship, and love unfeigned.

Pam is survived by her devoted husband Stan Balfour; her children, Kimberli Balfour, Angela Balfour, David Balfour, Richard Balfour (Abby), Michele Balfour Gee (Mark), Lisa Balfour Stanley (Adam), Kristy Lei Dittman, Stacy Balfour Seymour (Ethan); 12 grandchildren; her sisters, Sharrel Miller (Jerry), Darla Johnson (Wally), Kim Johnson (Layne) and Robin Connell (Sam); and her best friend of 45 years, Pat Cranney. She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Elizabeth Fowler, as well as two of her sisters Karen Fowler and Barbara Bruderer (Clark).
